i will drop my 2-cents in if i understand this correctly, you want the planets to receive light so you should set EMF_LIGHTING, true and since the sun has no external light to light it up ( as it should be ) but you want to see it obviously, you can set its material's emissive colors with node->getM...

Thanks Sudi. currently im doing ok with the programming, although very very slow.. since im learning better ways to do things that ive done and have to redo them. as for the concept of what im trying to make, i do have a general idea of what it should play like, one thing that bothered me about game...

hmmmz.. copyright.. well.. i would have to say that this is a fan based simulator with no intentions of being commercial or profit oriented in any way and that the simulation is based on the star trek universe. the ship models are based on the star trek ones, but are obviously not exact replica's as...

actually, the torpedo does have some animation to it, here's a rather crummy screen captured vid that where i slowed the torpedo's speed, and just for fun i tossed in an explosion off in the distance that is meant to be triggered where the torpedo hits its targeted range http://img360.imageshack.us/...
