You don't need a Qt-specific way to embed, it's just nice to use if you already use Qt.
If you take a look at some of the demos I've posted (vertex texture comes to mind), they have embedded files in the executable using just irr.

it seems like the bug descriped here also applies to CCubeSceneNode ::clone(), CSphereSceneNode ::clone() and CAnimatedMeshSceneNode ::clone().
At least in CCubeSceneNode.cpp it didn't seem to be fixed in the latest SVN revision.
So, as far as I understand, querying the shadow variable first ...
it seems like the bug descriped here also applies to CCubeSceneNode ::clone(), CSphereSceneNode ::clone() and CAnimatedMeshSceneNode ::clone().
