To the New Year:
May there be many features written,
Few bugs that we must file,
For between the two,
We shall compile!

XML Reader Line Number Addition

(<Insert standard, which is the correct section for this thread>? question here) Hello all, I have in at least one place mentioned that I wanted to add in code to the XML reader to help debugging by allowing the output of which line number the reader is on while parsing out useful information. Upon ...

Firstly: A wise man once said that if two people agree on something, one of them is not needed. I love this quote! I also love the fact that someone can put forth a strong opinion without causing those within this thread to scatter to the hills in fright. The way I usually handle this is to answer ....

Out of curiosity: Which B3D exporter are you using from which modeling program?

I think part of the issue is that of a new programmer, barely grasping the language trying to start out on a 3d graphics engine. I know that when I started out learning to program, I had a 3d game in mind, however I told myself that until I get a grasp on things I'd create a simple 2d shooter. I use...

A fairy lends itself to special effects: Lighting effects, particle systems, translucency of the wings, etc.

It may make it easier to blend in an example of an "irrlicht", I did a search and irrlicht translates (roughly) to ghost light, or will-o-wisp.

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on where you folks end up going with this. I can imagine a usage for this to help scale a game's graphics. That is to say, if you know that you'll be using a player weapon\effect that a particle emitter wouldn't work for, a facing quad could be painted with a texture...

Agreed. We need a way to showcase all of the neat features implemented by the main developers, and those within the community. Plus, it would provide a central application so newer folk can say "Oh hey! That neat thing that I saw... It was in that demo, what is it?"

Although some of our non-US\UK members may not have the best English, the fact that they are fluent in some non-English language helps us expand the wiki be including their languages. So, we end up using their language skills as an asset.

I'm glad I ran over this thread as this was exactly the issue that I've come across in my game. I simply hadn't had enough time to care enough to figure out what is wrong and fix it.

Although a tutorial would be useful for those interested in using the two of these together, I would suggest using a wrapper to save time; so you are not "reinventing the wheel" Irrbullet is the wrapper that I use and it is rather easy to get running. No matter which wrapper you end up cho...

I assume that it's under the zlib license, or GPL... One of the devs likely knows for certain, and in turn, better than I.

For those that don't know: Spambots simply generate a ton of irrelevant posts for no reason. ... Correction, their reason is similar to the reason that folks cheat at games: To ruin the experience for others, gaining some sort of high from it. Elementary school mentality, really.
