I don't understand the question. The version I have done does use OpenC++.

OpenC++ provides a some compatibility with POSIX and features of STL and some of Boost. However, it does not automagically makes the OpenGL driver compatible with the OpenGL ES library (which is the one available on the ...

SVN ready

Hi to all.

Well, as I said I have just upload the code of Irrlicht 1.4.1 for S60 3rd Edition.

I have not done neither any webpage nor a proper distribution (I don't have much time right now), but I have uploaded the code to the SVN of the sourceforge project page.

The SNV can be accessed using ...

It works for me with the media in z:/media

Wow, that's quite strange...

Works great on the N95-2 I tested but doesn't work on my N95-1, maybe because I only have 56MB of RAM?

Maybe... But I think it shouldn't be a problem, since the demo only needs 25 Mb under Windows... Well, actually I ...

Im afraid i couldnt get it to work with the Nokia N82.
When the command line appears,i enter "y" and press the down key(if i press down without "y",it exits). It gives me to choose the renderers(i tried them all ...

I have the irrlicht\media folder with the files both in mem card and phones memory. The application itself is in the memory card.
I dont know why it doesnt work on a N82.
It looks in ..\..\media for the resources, and the app is installed to card:\bin\, so your media dir should be in the root of ...

I can download the files now and will test on old N95 tomorrow :)

edit: I lied! Just tried now and it closes after failing to open room.3ds

I configure my mobile so much time ago that I almost forgot how I did it. Ok, the solution is quite simple, just copy the media folder of Irrlicht to c ...

I WILL release the source code, and quite soon, don't worry about that. Surely there would be proofs of my authorship if I uploaded it now, and furthermore, chances are that I would not have any problems (I have a 234 page document describing the porting process). But I might have. And, honestly ...

That's funny. I am logged out and I can download the file without any password...

Try again, I have explicitly set every file as public.

mm, sorry, which password?

No password should be needed to download any of the files I have uploaded. Also, you don't need Carbide.vs to run the application.

Oh, my! I always forget something. Sorry for the inconveniences.

I forgot to tell the dependencies. As Symbian's native language is not ANSI C++ but Symbian C++, it is needed to install a standard C++ runtime called OpenC++ in order for Irrlicht to run on the phone.

The required SIS files are ...

Wow! Thanks you all for your overwhelming response and your good wishes :)

The proper link for downloading the SISX file should be:

I hope this one does work :)

If you finally try it let me know what you think :)

Irrlicht 1.4.1 for S60 3rd Edition (Nokia 95)

Hello to all.

I would like to announce that I have finished porting Irrlicht to the S60 3rd Edition platform, which is the one run in several Nokia phones.

I own a Nokia N95 8GB, and so it has been my target device, but the port should be able to run at the same speed in the N95 and the N93, as ...

Yeah, the color format problem is quite tedious to solve. Anyway as I have already done it I think that you would be able to just use my code -which I think I already sent you, but I am not sure-.

Anyway, wouldn't it be necessary a iPhone OS device to be able to run Irrlicht on the iPhone? Apart ...

Fair enough; OpenGL ES is a significant target. I should be more excited about it, but I work on mobiles in my day job, so it's a bit of a busman's holiday.

Well, actually I have Irrlicht 1.4.1 running on my Nokia N95 8Gb.

I was going to show a video, but I lack a proper camera to record the ...

Thanks you very much erictheturtle!

That example is perfect for me, since I am using OpenGL ES 1.x. In fact, I am targeting a PowerVR MBX card, which is the "big sister" to the MBX Lite found in the iPhone.

I'll try to valorate the feasibility and complexity of using that technique with the tweaks ...
