Cellphone languages ... why?

Does anyone have good insight for why i-phone doesn't mainly use c, but objective c and android doesn't mainly use java, but primarily is based on an sdk?

These issues tend to frustrate me when trying to write cross platform code. It just seems silly that when a new phone comes out, there is some ...

Sorry for my slow reply and thank you for your quick response.

I am going to have to look at CUDA/OpenCL because I don't know what they are. I think that part of my previous question is rather silly, because of course you won't be able to throw out the current graphics engine because it will take ...

Hardware ray tracers discussion

There are going to be some hardware ray tracers coming out in the not too distant future. If/When things go more that direction, do you think that irrlicht will have to be completely rewritten? Does anyone have a good perspective on how libraries like open gl will be different from how they are ...

about the media fire files

If I remember correctly, I only put in the files that I edited. There are a lot of files that aren't there. Also, that code doesn't work so well. I think that hybrid updated my code for fbx in irrext. You might be better off taking a look there.

How is the fbx coming along? Is it included in any of ...

Scripting language game engines

One of the recent things that I'm starting to learn is python, and it seems really slick for the most part. It doesn't have the control of c/c++ in a lot of ways, but it has a lot of benefits too. For one thing python is portable.

As someone new to scripting languages, I wonder what the pros and ...

That's great. I'm so glad that it's usable. There were a lot of bugs, but even that much was pretty complicated for me to put together.

ok I have added the code to media fire at

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9a322af91a4c76b990a82c7bb0fad7ade04e75f6e8ebb871

I tried to build it object oriented, but I didn't have time to finish, so it's probably about 60% done. Let me know if you have questions. It would be great to have it work ...

That would be great if I can post the code and you could fix it up. Another problem is that right now I don't have more time to work on it.

How can I get my code to you?

Unfortunately after spending a lot of time, I was unable to finish the fbx importer. I did get it to a point where the mesh was drawing scattered all over the place, but in the end, I just don't know enough about animations to really do this project. I hope that you guys all understand.

Really ...

Yeah I think that I might keep them separate for now, and then after I finish the loader I'll figure out how to get it to get the loaded mesh into the irrlicht engine. I'm having a major problem at the moment which is that I don't know how the components all work together. I've tried looking at the ...

As an update: I have started to build an fbx reader that will be hopefully really simple to use. I'll have a lot to clean up at the end with naming conventions and all sorts of other stuff. I have some questions. I'm using std::string and std::vector to simplify some of the code in the reader. I ...
