[Solved]Getting the "positioning point" of a model

A 3d model has always a point, where the position is related to. Since I don't know the name of that point I couldn't search for my question :( So first question: What's the name of this positioning point? Second and important question: How can I get this positioning point in IrrLicht? I'm using a b...

Where exactly are the differences to my perl script then? I know one: The perl script doesn't need any login data.

We're (nearly) all coders here - no one will stop you from coding a script :-) It's just the end-of-discussion for enabling this in the forum, at least for now - we simply can't. And we didn't just try for 5-10 minutes. Good, you could think about your own hosting though. But this for sure is not d...

I guess you didn't understand. Just use curl and get the "View posts since last visit" with your login and password, and you're done. No need to implement anything, with user-definable update intervals 8) What if I only want to subscribe 1 single thread (or threads I posted in / I'm inter...

That would be one useless script. You can click on "View posts since last visit" in the upper right corner of the main forum page and you'll get a nice list. You didn't understand what my script will be doing. It immediately sends you an email whenever a new post or thread is written (to ...

We can stop the discussions here, it's simply impossible. And no, we won't host the forum elsewhere. No, we will not stop the discussion here, because it is NOT impossible! I WILL circumvent this sh!t by writing a perl script, which will check this forum and threads regularly and will allow people ...

Using Virion's server might be a solution maybe - if we get a sane mail-addresse that way and if it's not maybe against the rules of his provider etc. He was talking about a dedicated server (at least I hope so and I was talking about one, too), the only rules some cheap "dumping price" p...

Virion wrote:just curious, any problem with that?
Ye, well, latency problems (400ms) but I forgot that is not a problem for a mail server (would be though for a webserver and other stuff).

So, sure, use his server and we can finally advance one step in forum evolution.. :)

But while you seem like a nice guy, the truth is that I don't know anything about you. So nothing against you, but if we get a mailserver I would somehow prefer it to be from someone who we know a little bit ... We could phone a bit in German  Then you will get to know me better  Otherwi...

Abusing another mailaccount as smtp-server might actually really work. At least unless it's not against the guidelines of the mailproviders (and we have to check such stuff first). So could be a good idea. That's not abusing, that's exactly what they're made for (and I've also seen a dozen of board...

But I must admit, because i have to check for new posts I discover other new threads and might be able to help there as well. That's also no problem (although I didn't see the link for it in this forum yet), but usually you can even subscribe to a whole area, so that you get an emails whenever a ne...

Let's hunt mammoths and live in caves, it worked for 60,000 years and that is MUCH better than 6 years.

The other thing, i.e. faster discussions, is not a major point for us - we have that time :D You have the time but for example people who need help can get the help much faster and maybe answer more required questions while the answer givers can then react much faster. Overall the Irrlicht project ...

Okay, they've disabled sendMail(), I've also done this on my server (you could send Emails in the name of SourceForge for example, which is not even detectable with SPF records then). BUT, and that's also the way my customers in web hosting go: Use SMTP! For example phpBB is offering SMTP functional...
