Stereo 3D stops working depending on camera position/lookat

I'm using nvidia's "3D Vision" to do stereoscopic 3D. Irrlicht seems to have built-in support for this.

Here's the code:
http://pastebin.com/9s4gEZuX

On line 24, the camera's position and lookat vectors have the same Z, causing this effect:

Changing the lookat's Z from 10 ...

It doesn't seem to stick to the animated mesh. (The cylinder is doing crunches) It works well aside from that.

Re: Stick a billboard to a skinned mesh?

Search for decal in the forum.

Regards,
smso
Thanks, I forgot about that.

So I'm trying http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=44968

But it looks like there's a couple of files missing? The download doesn't have DecalLoader.h or EmptyDecalSceneNode.h.

Edit: It works if I ...

Stick a billboard to a skinned mesh?

I'm working on a program that is supposed to simulate cutting someone with a scalpel.

It needs to show blood near the cut. Currently I'm trying to use billboards for this.*

However, I need the billboards to move with the person. I'm assuming that I can't use the skeleton because I don't have any ...

Re: getSceneNodeAndCollisionPointFromRay with animated model

Yes, they are.

Edit: I'm using 1.7.3, and I'm going to see if I have this problem in the current SVN.

getSceneNode...FromRay with EJUOR_CONTROL animated model?

I've been using getSceneNodeAndCollisionPointFromRay to find the intersection of a ray and a model, but it doesn't seem to work with animated models. Is there a way to do this? Or will I have to implement it myself somehow?

I suppose it would require CPU skinning, which is why it's not implemented ...

This one time I had a problem where I couldn't find a good music player for Linux, so I wrote my own.

It's taken a few months of part-time coding, but the latest version works exactly like I expect it, loads instantly, and isn't cluttered with extraneous features and gadgets like other music ...

Resize your screenshots plz. I didn't buy a 1920 by 1200 monitor so I could take the whole thing up with Firefox.

I think it might be helpful if your website or somewhere explained what Sirrf actually does.

I see it's a "game framework", but I'm not sure what it's supposed to do, and I'm too lazy to download it just to find out.

I think dev-cpp might be Windows-only, go for Code::Blocks.
MinGW works decently, but you should probably use the Visual Studio compiler if you already have it. I don't think MinGW is known for being well-maintained.

I have 1920 by 1200, but I keep Firefox around 1200 pixels wide for convenience.

I think 800 pixels wide would be nice, then I won't have to scroll horizontally.

Just make a model and tell us if it doesn't work.

IPO animation probably won't work directly, since B3D only seems to support skeletal animation. But skeletal animation is based on IPO, so do this:

1. Make your model
2. Export to B3D
3. If it doesn't work, tell us

Asking about IPO animation is ...

DirectX and B3D are about the same, though Blender's DirectX exporter is broken and B3D doesn't like to flat-shade things for some reason.

But I think B3D is a lot smaller, and I found this nice exporter for Blender:

So put that in your blender scripts directory and ...

yeah, in the last few shots, the sky is reflected on the bottom side of the car, and the top is dark from reflecting the ground.

I think something is backwards there.
