Hey,

I have noticed a small bug "user-side" (I am not into hacking into irrlicht and stuffs).

- Create a terrain
- Change its position
- Create an octreetriangleselector
- make some ray/mesh collision detection

First when you release the key : you should launch the idle animation as mentionned in my previous post with the callback system.

If what you want to do is : when the guy stops walking, wait until the end of the walking animation before setting it to idle animation.

Then you can TRY (not sure about interrupting the loop part, don't your animations have names ?)

use a bool to keep track of "walking".

in your event method :

if (event.KeyInput.Key==KEY_KEY_W)
{

if (event.KeyInput.PressedDown)&&(!walking) //this will be done once

The agent is moving ON face 1 in "forward" direction.
Both my ray (in down direction) and your hemisphere won't detect face 2.

Shouldn't have mentionned gravity because in wall walk ...

Gravity doesn't really affects insect walking because of the high number of "hooks" they have on their legs.
In my case it would be the same.

AvP guys did it once, i hope it is possible without huge hacks.

Hello,

For a personal project of mine (included in my degree), I would like to create a 3D environment in which entities can walk on the "walls".
Imagine a 3D terrain with a tree in the middle, if the "agent" goes toward the tree and doesn't stop it will walk on it.

OK I think I could manage exporting in 2 different files but what about the shape : with names I could have known if an object has to be created as a cylinder, a box, a sphere in ODE.

I'v patched my Irrlicht with : LinuxKeyboard.patch
but it didn't change anything.
Is that a probem of charset ?

Edit : I am stupid. I was linking with both my old libIrrlicht.a and my old.
Now it works fine.
