See, that's why I voted to disable them. Lot of this mud-slinging could be avoided that way.

Many hosts offer PHP without MySQL (some forums do fine without sql you see), and many hosts offer PHP with limited SQL usage - ie as soon as your forum start getting many members, it puts a burden on their server and your site gets shut down.

The problem with this site is Sourceforge, which occassionally slows down to the point where you want to tear your hair out, scream and run in circles. 8)

That said they do give you mysql and php functionality, so it's not THAT bad.

Not that the code doesn't matter, but the average gamer notice the difference between decent and good code While you might be right, I hate this way of thinking. It's an easy excuse to make programs (especially games) as bad as they are now - "hey, who the hell cares it's full of bugs, we can ...

Ideas can only be patented. HOPEFULLY you - and anyone else either - won't be able to that here in Europe. Hopefully. :? But in US it's free way to go. As long as you have the money that is.

You can only copyright your actual code, your implemented ideas.

If using other 3D-Engine, than IrrLicht is allowed, I think it is not appropirate to call it "Irrlicht Community Contest". :( rather you may call it "Game contest using any 3D engine, under irrlicht community" lols I hope you see the 2nd one has the absolutely same meaning as th...

The problem is ATi, nVidia and economics. They won't start raytracing cards before the current type of graphics card don't run out of steam completely - afterall, with RT cards (which are also a strong interface/technology break) the current cards would pretty quickly become obsolete. Noone really w...

It wouldn't take a 36GHZ CPU, but rather a raytrace graphics card instead of the rasterization based cards (which are used today).

Copyrights are yours when you make something indeed. That said, having certificate about the copyright helps you prove that you indeed had it, and you aren't just making it up now. Acquiring a copyright certificate however varies from country to country, there's no real general rule on how to do tha...

Hm. You might want to use another host than Geocities... o_O I don't know what the hourly limit is, but seems your site exhausts it pretty quickly.
