Irrlicht Engine

I just started using irrlicht. I want to make an multiplayer fps game as a long term project. I have irrlicht as well as Newton and Dev C++. Where do i start? What do i do? is there a tutorial on this? I know there are tutorials on loading maps in and stuff, I just dont know how I would do the rest ...

I tried using the tutorials for putting Quake3 maps in irrlicht and it just doesn't work. I am using Dev C++ and have modeled a map which can be exported to most Quake3 filetypes.
