yay, it works now thanx hybrid...

...however i'm only getting 2fps!

i have no idea what's going on, i used to get approx 70 on windows,

any help?

Weird flashy linux error...

hi, i've just compiled the demo i've been making on linux (mandriva) and when i run my app the window just flashes and dissapears, yes before you ask i have got a main loop. I get this output in the console: Irrlicht Engine version 0.6 Linux Creating X window... Starting fullscreen mode... Connectin...

i've added the lights and setup the model to use lighting i was just asking if i could make them flicker, i wondered about placing the light insde the particle field, and then setting the particles to cast shadows, the constantly moving particles should create the effect i'm after but i'm not sure h...

flickering lights

hi, i have a room in which there are several flaming torches made using the particle system, i was wondering if there is a way to light the room from these torches and have the light flicker etc.

yeah, you texture the model in the modeller, when saved to 3ds format irrlicht will load the textures automatically.

yay... i fixed it, for anyone else who has the same problem make sure that each part of the model that has a different texture is a different group/object. :D :D :D :D me happy now! lol

bah! when have you ever known m$ to give anything away for free! Use linux if you want a free os, Mandrake and Slackware are free, easy to install and easy to use, and irrlicht does work on them. PS, if you want to use windows software on linux then use a windows emmulator such as WINE http://www.wi...
