I am assuming you want the camera to not respond to a the up/down arrows no, actually i want the camera to move on the Y (and X) axis without restrictions, which are set in the CCameraFPSSceneNode.cpp in the irrlicht source. i have found the problem and i'll post a solution as soon as i get it work...

camera issue
