please stop with the installers, I have made a rule to myself to not download anything that is an installer off this forum. It's not that hard to put it into a zip.... Stop it with the installers that leave behind registry crap and don't delete the proper things when you uninstall them... ANNOYING!!!

You know I was thinking, You could just download the Microsoft visual c++ express compiler(not the IDE) and use codeblocks with it, if you like codeblocks, and I would assume that the VCExpress has more utilities then the free toolkit...

[SOLVED]compilation error

I compiled my irrlicht dll in visual c++ express with dx8 and dx9 and all the supporting devices....

did everything, i got no errors...

I recompiled the hello World example without editing I get this...

thank you, I knew I was using a too new version, I just didn't which version SDK from microsoft website still contained dx8, thankyou for the zip... :D Oh, and also... Do you have the runtime installer for this, or can I just run my game through dependency walker and find the dependency DX dll's and...

How would I go about compiling irrlicht in visual c++ express edition without directx, it seems everytime I compile it it comes back with errors, cannot find directx blah blah blah how do I undefine it VC++ Express..

I'm all up for getting rich... but from viewing your progress on that 'game' your making I think the government will just laugh in your face. I would guess the creators didn't want to sacrifice hard work for a free 3d model. I'm sure if you search hard enough you will find a textured mesh for free download.

In my oppinion, texturing is the hardest part of modelling... Especially in blender...
