Parallax mapping and Shadow

Hello to all, i'm in love with a new problem  . I found a post about that, but without an answer, so i'm asking this "again". I created a tangentMesh for Parallaxmapping and everything is fine. But as soon as i add an ShadowVolumeSceneNode the whole Scene is messed up. Take a look...

Hi hybrid, the RotationAnimator really seems to act different from eg. FlyCircleAnimator, because i just created a FlyCircleAnimator, and all Cubes are flying in circles :). Cool, so many days trying to solve the problem, and now this  . OK, it's like that, and i have to accept it. I'll take ...

hi toxnico,

what example were you trying?
Do you encounter that in games too? Could be your Graphicdriver. Try to get an updated.

Try to use OpenGL instead of Directx, and this problem goes away.
Strange, but true. Probably theres something messed up with DirectX.

The downside of OpenGL is, that it's (in my scene) much slower. It could also be the driver of my GC.
OpenGL: 11fps
DirectX : 65fps

Whatever

I guess i know where the problem is. When creating a second animator, and add it to one Scenenode like this sceneMgr->getSceneNodeFromId(2)->addAnimator(animator2); then the first Cube is rotating (animator1) and the second one (animator2). Could it be that an animator can only be attached to one No...

Erm *hust*,

that's embarrassing  . You're right.
Then there's only the 'darkening of the scene'-problem.

Btw, thx hybrid for all your answers

Hi there. I couldn't resist, and tried again to find out what's wrong  This time i added some TextSceneNodes to the cubes displaying there IDs. The first thing thats really strange is, the first Cube isn't textured at all. Just black, and the second problem i encountered is that the whole Scen...

Back from the Dead, fixed my Comp.

So, i tried some time now to get it work, but no luck.
I'll give up on that

Btw, what if one wants to show a lot of meshes, like birds, trees or whatever, assuming they're all the same mesh. What's the best way to do that?

Thanks

Did you forgot to put the NEW Irrlicht.dll into your Folder (eg \Debug in Visual Studio). It's found under \Irrlicht-1.1\bin\Winxx-xxx. Of course you have to use the correct dll.

You mean I better go the way with making it a "real" SceneNode first, or what do you mean by sloooow?
Or is there any other way to add those Cubes, like eg. in OpenGL adding Vertices etc to a list, and then display them?

OK, this makes sense.

If you don't mind, could you take a look at my code at the beginning of this thread? Is there anything I did wrong, or why is only one Cube rotating, while the others are not?

Thanks

Thx hybrid. :) I looked at the svn changes.txt, but found nothing. Anyways, the problem still exist, but this time my cubes are effected by the light i put into the Scene, which was not the case with Irrlicht 1.0  PS: WHY do i ALWAYS have the "luck" to have faulty RAM, or a faulty HD...

Erm, OK.

No more addTestSceneNode. Maybe it was a buggy feature. Is there any way to see what was added/removed from the Engine?

Thanks

And again a new Irrlicht version....i'll gonna try that one. Maybe that problem goes away. But first i have to fix my winxp  . I love BSOD. What would life be without them? I guess nicer.
