Very nicely written python integration tutorial you got there. Great job man :)

Looking forward to more non-standard tutorials besides the stuff that irrlicht already comes with.

Wierd Mouse Click Bug??

Hmm, I've been trying to figure out how to detect if a mouse button is being held and I seem to have come across a problem. The mouse hold behavior is rather erratic. Even though I may be holding the button down for a long time, my event receiver utilizing EMIE_LMOUSE_PRESSED_DOWN eventually returns...

Yep, should be enough to just use a quad with a footprint texture.

Find Player coordinate
Place quad in that area
Set a timer and delete it after some time to make it look better

Yea, a simple quad should be enough. Then for the texture you can do one of the following things: Make one large texture Make a small repeatable tile and set texture coordinates Make 2 separate textures with repeating white/grass color bands and make the white transparent using makeColorKeyTexture()...

How about using a GUIElement and modifying its alpha every tick. You can get 2D Screen coordinates from 3D world coordinates pretty easily and the GUI element will allow you to modify it in many other ways too.

Mmmhmm, good idea. It would be nice if you made your own well defined skin loading script or something. Then we could just use different paths and have totally awesome looking GUIs.

Hmm, I cant seem to load the mdl model into max. It just hangs when I click import. I tried it with several different mdl files straight from that site you pointed me to and from nwvault. *Edit* Import seems to only work if warnings are allowed in that NWMAX menu. *Edit* It seems that my animations ...

Hmm if anything, I need to be informed of the keys to press to do actions. I had no clue what to press when I entered the game. All I could infer were the movement and attack keys.

Ofcourse graphics need to be updated, but thats surely already on your plan.

Damn nice screenies you got there!

Are you planning on doing anything with the tree billboards? It seems to be the only thing that detracts me from the scene. And perhaps a little gaussian blur too ^^
