Does ZModeller work for something else than cars? i hope so :) for level editing use Quark and Radiant. It is what i used some time ago, Radiant has the tools you need to compile maps and QuArK has the modelling abilities along that it can include complex entities from quake, in the meaning of model...

Is a camera whose position doesn't change too much, i first thought of it as a camera which followed a spline, but then i saw places where the camera was free, so, now, to be exact, the camera is indeed free. but it doesn't move too much from the point it is placed in. Then, it follows the character...

Turbo Squid has a fair amount of lowpoly models, though not much of them about space ships, and such, and of course, even less which are free and are good :) http://www.turbosquid.com/ http://www.the3dstudio.com/ http://www.top3d.net/ And then, about modelling and texturing: http://www.3dtotal.com/ ...

Oh, don't pay attention to the blue fog, it is just an experiment with it. In fact the setting would be inside a mountain, or so, it is a sort of futuristic train station. Still in progress, mybe i post something later :) The point is that there is no mouse camera! is a third person camera like Resi...

Well, now i'm working only with DirectX, so, i guess my point would be to HLSL, although i'd like to know about both. CG? what is exactly Cg, maybe i know it for another name, but who knows. That was a screen of a first attempt to make the engine work, now i'm encapsulating each part into its own mo...

With regard to what lostclimategames said You could perhaps try to see how tall or wide a mesh is in screen space (That is, the amount of pixels it has in the greatest side of the rectangle that contains the rendered image of the object), and when the mesh height or width is below that limit, you ca...

direct input for irrlicht?
I hope this is the right place to ask... Well considering that direct input is a Direct X feature, i don't hope to see support for future irrlicht releases but i0m wondering if there is already out there any extension to support direct input (to use a controller) as the controls i'm thinking to add ...

New feature proposition: How about native video support?
For example to display intro videos, endings something like that. Also, i read somewhere that video blending was a feature which could be done in pixel shader 3. So, why not include a feature like this in a native way? perhaps support for XVid or OGG Theora videos. Congratulations, the engine is SUP...
