TeamSpeak for Irrlicht!

Post by rooly »

hello, everyone, this post is to inform you of a (hopefully) usable public audio forum for Irrlicht. It has all the major sub-topics as irrlicht forums.

the server is at rooly-games.com:8080 in teamspeak.

for those of you new to teamspeak, you can get it here:
http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=downloads

teamspeak has a port for all major OS's and is a free download.

Don't hesitate to stop bye. We need at least a few knowledgeable people in there to make this work. there is room for 160 people, but i doubt it'll ever get that crowded.

Come on over!

PM me if you need more help...

I'm curious of what you all sound like, I might pop on for a bit when I get home.
Having said that, I won't be online for long..I'd rather be listening to music (or the sound of my psu fan) than listening to rooly and erus mucking around- at least with IRC I can minimize the window

just so you know, until a few more people adopt this, it won't be very viable. probably need at least 10 people to make this work

i can also supply anyone wanting voice on an online game. maybe some good irrlicht ones will want it? haha. anyway, the server includes rooms for all of the major irrlicht topics, a mic test channel, an 'irrtunes' channel, and a dedicated userbase of...1,2, maybe 3...

if you can't get your mic to work, just try and switch it to wave recording. should work better that way.

just to let anyone interested know, i've decided to change this into a radio style teamspeak server, with helpful hints playing in the 'irrnoob' channel, an irr radio channel for special broadcasts, a general playlist channel, and a game channel. the radio stations are voice/devoice, whereas the game is able to play subchannels

seeing as how the community activity on my server is a blatant zero at all times of the day save for the occasional lukeph popping on, i must admit defeat to laziness and take down my server.

if you really were looking forward to this, don't fret. i've got plenty of internet, but only one machine to work on right now. i'm hosting this all on my current machine, which is my main machine. the instant i've gotten a few linux servers up and running is the same instant i bring the server back online and stop caring about the size of the userbase.

this may take a little while, however. i've got a busy life for the next couple of months, what with high-school graduation, science fair, school computer technician, all around community computer guru, my favorite sport's season just starting, and lastly beginning coordination of a small team to help me work on my own project using irrlicht, life is gonna get real busy real fast.

just pm me if you wanna help. peace!
