that one is free if you don't make a comercial use of your project. IE: open source, mods...

Recently released this type of license.

And, if you want a totally free one, Grafitti (just scroll down or hit ctrl f and write "graffiti", on that page) But no where near as good as the other. :

i tried that tattoo and it works quite good for simple stuff
doesn't have nearly all that deep paint has but it also doesn't have a three digit price tag :)

I was just about to ask this question today, you read minds :D I've never used these painter programs before, are they worth learning? I've always struggled with UVW coords for organic models.

I purchased deep3d 2.0 long ago.

yep, no way to get near that.

yet very good tool.Just remember: NOT free for comercial. But can use on free projects.

yep, that uv well setting up is CRUCIAL for any texturing.Though, a bad uv mapping can be solved in 3d painting, if not terrible. In 2d painting, u need the mapping to kick ass an dbe very clear. is a fact.

You don't do ONLY 3d painting. Can be done, but is not clever. usually is good 3d painting for a mark up, and end the stuff in careful 2d painting. So is why keeps being so important to do very good, straight and clear UVs.

I researched a lot as an artist prevous to the big purchase. For those times I was only a texturer, so I concentrated my bucks in my main ability.
