Bloopers

Post by Furyouhin »

Ok, I would like to start off by saying what a great game development platform Irrlicht is... congrats niko.

Being this is my first post I would like to keep it on the up side.
I had a small blooper in my game I am working on. I was adjusting the rotation of a NPC with XML. And I rotated by the Z axis and not the Y.

I have him set at point 0,0,0 just to start off so I can work on such things.
well 0,0,0 is the point i have for the spawn of my main player also.

I will stop rambling and show the pic.

Try as hard as we may for perfection, the net result of our labors is an amazing variety of imperfectness. We are surprised at our own versatility in being able to fail in so many different ways. - Samuel McChord Crothers

A little bit about my new game.
CXTek

collaborative-experimental-technology

yes, my 'little' game will be open source.
user editable
fully dynamic
with the hopes and dreams of being an mmorpg.

I really am not good at doing graphics, more then hits to why there are the quake3 level and quake 2 models.
but i can not use these in a release.

=============================================
Little about game play
=============================================
The game *will have a strong integration with a web site (any web admins?)
fully xml powered the game will allow for changing of there model skin and so on via the web.

actual game should be forum built with only administrators doing the compiling.

new maps and models (races) will be approved by the admins also.

game take place in the future.
is an RPG/but should keep the quake feel.
(over all style)

but there is alot of blood to be shed.

sounds good. anything done already?
We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.

its stayed the same for a while.
just moving everything to be pleasing to other programmers.

still a lot to do in the game dynamics department.
and there are not graphics for the game. (but that will come after the dynamics)

my stripped todo list:
npc:xml quest (in the works)
bots
at the bottom:animation

but really nothing is done, i think my programming skills need to be updated.

I will just write the base of the game and let it run on its own path.

I know somehow the database went offline. It was a great resource page as well.

would like to see it.

Looks like my thread has been moved, I did not intend for this to be a project announcement. Just something funny.
But I guess it has turn out that way.
