some questions to the director xtra

Post by nabittened »

as I'm thinking that we could use something like that perfectly for a project where we need dx 9 compatibility which adobe itself does not offer til now:

is it already shockwave safe?
is the beta stable? Are u already able to say when a final release will be likely to happen?

PS: I know, I know it's OS, so don't consider my questions as demands but just as questions =)

Since there's no link hidden in this posting I asume it's non-SPAM, but I honestly don't get any sense from what you're asking. Wrong forum?

Without further postings I'd assume its some kind of "spam test posting". had such postings in my blog too (just something like "hi my name is xyz") before some bots tried to post real spam. Or it's just to increase the post count for spam accounts first so they don't look like spam accounts. :P

Or he's just a little bit weird (no offense). :)

Not sure if the dev's browse this forum, but you might get a better answer directing your question to someone from the site by commenting on one of their blogs? Couldn't find a contact address.

I was also a bit confused first, but to my best guessing this forum was the right way to post questions, so sorry to confuse you, I'll try to find another way to contact the authors

You can use it for a Projectors its stable but not all features are yet available.
It will be shockwave save if its ready for release.
But check if no Timeout is enabled if you deliver CDs, the Xtra will be commercial.

It brings great new features to director and i think it will be ready in roundabout 6 Month.

Director will not have new 3d Features, so it is the first choise till director get
a better 3d engine.

I worked with MD2/Milkshape and Quake Maps yet and this functions are Stable.

The ODE physic will expand. And we could switch to Newton too.

The only problem i have is that irrlicht and the Xtra is optimized for first person games. Means that most helpers or functions bind to fps views.

If you make a first Person Application or Effects its save.
For shockwave it need intern zip compression but now you can use it with extern assets.
