Deesines' graphics workshop

Post by deesine »

Welcome, I just got the brilliant idéa to help anyone in the irrlicht community who needs some graphical aid. I usually spend most of my free time creating graphics anyway, so I figured why not do it for someone who needs it, and I can use more experience with project-based client work. Creating what someone else needs, rather than what I want.

Focus will be on low/mid-poly static 3d work, textures, and perhaps some 2d work. Mainly things that wont take more then four-five hours to create.

I will reject character modeling, bone-animation, and anything that I think will take me too long to complete without being long-term committed to a project.

I don't know if it's needed around here, but I'm offering some of my free time and everything will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.

So if anyone wants my help, please reply or pm, include some basic information, example:
I would like a *foo-bar*, max 3000 polys triangulated, one 512 texture, scale about 120 cm tall, 80 cm wide.... etc etc.

Of course I can also create sets of models if someone needs more than one, I'm open to suggestions, it all depends on how much time I think it will take me as I'm not looking for a long-term relationship atm ;)

Finally, some obligatory work samples:

Over and out for now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the current work queue, I'll keep it updated:

#1) BlindSide - minor adjustments to be done
#2) GameDude - in progress
#3) Monochrome - in progress (doesn't look to be finished anytime soon)
Removed omar and halan since I have still not received any response from them.

Thought I'd post a couple of terms I have for any work that I might create.

1) I can post renders/still images of work created in my portfolio if I want.
2) I will not re-use/distribute any work for use in other projects. Eveything will be original, custom work.
3) All work is mainly for freeware projects. Don't sell anything I make without talking to me :)

If I think of anything else I will add it here, and let you know.

Haven't modelled a car in quite some time, I guess it depends how detailed it has to be. Other than that, it shouldn't be any major problem as long as I have decent reference images.

We could use some help on prop development on our project. We are currently a developing a shooter based on the star wars universe named A Galaxy of War. Here's some details on our project http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=21045

also here's our moddb profile:

We are mostly in need of simple props like sci fi crates n containers, simple devices and some default structures to later use on mapping. Mostly mid/low poly of course. Rocks and trees are necessary as always. Do you think you can help us?

Most certainly, I've added you to my list.

Just got back from work and I'm going to bed, then it's all graphics.
Expect some updates later tonight.

Well I see that your working with Monochrome, but if you have some time, do you think you could model a simple car. Something that you could drive around in?

You can easily get one of those in turbosquid, if you really want it simple.

Just so happens that I have a character I can do that on, you mention gimp/photoshop. So I suppose you'd want more info on the actual painting process rather than UV-wrapping/mapping etc...?
