This game definately needs to be remade.

OK, Doom and Wolfenstein 3D both got remakes. But what I'd like to see is Rise of the Triad (ROTT) remade.
Rise of the Triad is simply one of the funnest games ever. From blowing up enemies with bazookas and getting "ludicrous gibs!" to having the game's soundtrack occasionally change to elevator music, ROTT was always a good time. The shareware version is still around, although an emulator is needed to play it on XP, Vista or Linux.

An thoughts?

Are you going to do the remake? :)

Ok, I understand - the toppic is just a suggestion. But if we are talking about official, commercial remake - I see a simple problem. The game hasn't been created by a company, but by a team of people. So, to get the permission to create a sequel you would have to contact all members of the DIP team. That may be problematic.

I just saw PSP version of the game - it seems that the developers (or reverse engeneers) somehow solved this problem (or released the game it illegaly).

the source code for the game was released some time ago, i agree, it definately needs a remake with an engine update

heck even if they dont do an official remake of the game, it could still use the treatment the engine updates for DOOM like prboom and stuff added to the game,
