I think the FAQ page was edited by an advertisement bot...

Oh, and hi! I am new here. Hope you guys are as friendly as I've heard, gonna be visiting this site a lot the next coming months as I learn how to use Irrlicht.
Wiki, not really a bug.
It happened again.
I think whomever deals with the wiki on the admin level should add a system to weed out bots, maybe like a character validation (Like type in the characters you see in an image) when editing pages.
Kinda lame, that my only 2 posts so far are about the FAQ page, I'm using the main site's FAQ for now but still irritating since Tutorial One links to it. (Got two seperate machines, have it all set up on my comp at home, but this is my laptop so I tried setting up again, arg!)

I don't think that it's a problem that you post about spam in the Wiki. Sometimes this goes simply unnoticed which is why we also have a Spam report thread in here.
The problem with your posting is that you copied the Spam links to this forum
I've deleted them now. Next time just tell us what happens where, don't spam in here...
On the topic: Yes, Wikis without pasword protection seems to be impossible right now. I guess a guest password would be ok, Just write the password in plaintext to the Main page or the edit comment. The bots won't read it.
From my own experience I know that simply requiring login won't help because the bot scripts can automatically get a login and spam afterwards...

oh I wasn't talking about a password. I was talking, like you know when you register on most forums they have an image that you are to copy the letters/numbers from in order to register? I was saying something like that in order to edit a page.
And I apologize for putting the links here. Won't happen again, promise.

phpbb2's catchpa system is a hack in the first place, the registration system can still be bypassed with scripts because of the way it works. in 3 its much better integrated, i havent had a single spam registration since i upgradedhybrid wrote:Well, captchas did not work for the Irrlicht forum, so it won't work for the Wiki either.
