curved surfaces / NURBS

Post by atcdevil »

I've searched the forums for this, but came up with nothing. Has anyone suggested support for curved surfaces, particularly NURBS. Is Niko interesting in adding support for this?

An old news item:

And finally, as you can see on the screenshot at the left, I had some time to work on 0.4.2, and built in curved surfaces.
I think that this is NURBS, though I haven't used it or seen anyone taking advantage of it to know. Try importing a NURBS mesh to see if it works.

Cool thanks for that info.

I couldn't find anything in the documentation. But by searching through the source, I found curved surfaces are implemented in CQ3LevelMesh.cpp (in case anyone is interested...)

I guess if a NURBS curve is inside a BSP file then it will be loaded as such? Will be interesting to see your results if you manage to get it working.

I tried loading a NURB modelled box, and one of the sides was missing, pretty strange!
