Solit?r.
Hi.
I want to make a Solit?r like the original Solit?r, so I want to know whats going on there when you search the card libary and click on the card and well the functions of Solit?r, please can you tell me more about that?

Like rogerborg i'm unsure what you mean by "search the card library".
Presumably you mean how to work out which card should come off the top of the deck when you click it?
Think about how you know what card comes off the top of the deck when you play a game of solitaire in real life, with a pack of cards.

OK, help us out here. What parts are you unclear on? As I see it, you have these areas to deal with:
- A data structure to identify each card, i.e. suit /colour and value.
- Data structures representing all the piles of cards. A stack closely models the real situation, as you are always pushing and popping cards from the top of the stacks.
- A set of rules that dictate whether a card can be moved from one stack to another depending on the value of the card on the top of that stack.
- A way of shuffling the initial card stack.
- The UI to display, select and move the cards.

Hey
thanks guys, that was quick, i hadnt time that days but now i am looking into it.
what i want is a normal solitaer like he is at windows as standard game.
about the structure, is there a dsp or a dsw ? and then i need the .h or cpps.
i am a really noob at those things but i dont give up working on that.

edit: i mean i am thinking of trying to learn really good programming but its so difficult to understand the a b c around coding and how to use that and when and for what...the 5 w questions.
i mean which noob does start how and so?
and which noob is here totally noobish?

Ok, so let me get this straight.
You want to make a solitaire game, but you want US to give you the VC project file and the source code? Right?
And how exactly is that YOU making the game?
It seems like you don't really know too much about programming if you don't know where to get started so i suggest you go and learn C++ first (lots of tutorials online) and once you know your way around the language and have made some simpler applications you can then start to look into 3D graphics.
It's a bit much to jump straight into 3D graphics if you don't already have programming knowledge to help you on your way!

For JP...i have not that much time for coding, and how the exact way of coding is to learned of.
The time i starded was doing with q3 radiant and some of the 3d programs.
Also a bit of c plus plus but in a way i still reading c and c plus plus books but its not that i am like stupid to dont understand programming.
I know its hard its okay to give me critics but for learning more on c or plus plus i need to have more time and not that i want to talk out of me but i also looked at many source codes, there the things are going to start, that each program is a little other than for example yours, so in a way i dont know how to start simple and clean.
its like you buy an computer a new one and you dont know what you should really buy because there are 20 companys who sell computers and you dont know which one is good enough for you.
so , excuse me my bad english and writing , as you see i am thinking also of giving up making computer games.
its really a hard way but i think its possible to make smaller projects for yourself for example the solitaer game.
something where you know you can have much time for your self and dont have that stress.
its just , i dont know i am sure i will find such solitaer game source code, but if i would understand programming i would not ask here for help.
hopefully its understand able for you to read, so i give a try for learning that stuff.
well lets see....oh and btw ...i drank 2 beer when you are drunk do you write more or less?

Well games programming is hard. Programming is hard. It's not something you can pick up in 5 minutes and just do for a couple of hours every once in a while, you need to dedicate time and effort to it.
You may have seen books that say "learn to program in 24 hours" or something, but they're rubbish, all they do is give you a little bit of an intro to the basis of a language, more likely you need to spend years learning to program...
And games take a hell of a long time to make, longer than you'd think...
So basically if you don't have the time to put the effort in then it's not the hobby for you!

hey.
that lots of text helped me lot. i know what you are trying to tell me also its verry noobish for me and i thoughted with some doom 3 scripting and quake interactive scripting and programming with the codes and modding would help there but it looks like it doesnt.
when you look at all the mod groups over the internet you can see the most of them arent holding long just the really good ones like the dark mod or the remake of hexen with the doom engine.
well, i read the c book from some good guys on the johannes keppler university and this is one book i have and i bued me a 3d game programming
book, i think i have just the problem that i dont understand it very easy like some of you or most of you guys.

Have you actually spent any time planning your solitaire game at all? Or are you expecting us to tell you how to do it all?
If you actually sit down and think of all the different classes and functions you're going to need it should be fairly obvious which things you need from the tutorials...
Do you even need 3D for the game? Are you planning on it being 3D? You've not actually said at any point. If you're just trying to remake the MS Windows solitaire game then you don't need 3D at all for it so you can just use the draw2D functions of irrlicht (look at the 2D tutorial).

Thanks lot guys. it helps me lot out of the poop i am crabing.
even if i dont have the lots of experience i wont try to stop
until its done and if it tooks me 10 years, i am trying to
remake the original solitaer and hope it will work but also
i can also be stopped by not having enough time.
i will sure post it when i am finished with it.
btw..how do you do all of you?

i decidet to learn java as long as i can and the first steps
were hard enough.
so i need really time for that but i also wont forget looking at
