Next fileformat to be included?
Somehow i link implementing new file loaders into the engine. It's kinda challenging. So i want to ask which fileformat i should implement next. But please first look if there is a format descritption available like for MDS: http://www.quake.cz/winclan/mdsexporter/MDSFormat.html
please....
MD5.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
That's the Doom3 format, and is free. Bones and weights![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Unlike MDS, there's a Blender export for md5, as well as there's one for Max and Maya.
Like neo has one...
specs:

I'd rather like more if u do it for md5, as is newer than mds, and seems it's gonna be the trend...
And also, there's already an md5 blender exporter fully working![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
if u're up to it, I'll look deeply for more specs for md5![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Finally making games again!

Give me the weekend to try and ouput one very basic sample (not quality) of a human rigged model, and I'll see if i can ouput it in md5 format with der_ton's Blender md5 exporter, is it ok?
I'm quite busy due to certain problem, but I'll see if I can manage, and thanks for considering the format![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Ok, did a better research on inet.
Things I found.
Blender counts on what seems a functional exporter for md5, as I already knew. Der_ton's one. Same author has made an md5 model viewer, that I uploaded to my space for u to download if you want. The viewer is very good , drag left mous button drags the light, right mous button rotates.
And md5 seems is formed by the base mesh file, and with a different extension, the animation file. This seems clever, seems it could be used for exchanging animations, which is good.
In Der_ton's viewer, u can even activate bones viewing.
U just load the md5 mesh file, and load anim file (a button per each in scene tab I think) and bang, u see the guy animating with bones and weights, sooo smoothly![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Der ton's viewer includes an md5 example, model and animation.Don't quote me on that as I have tested too quiclkly but seems there's md5 for base mesh file, *.anim or anm for animation file.
I also found a user made started model and animation .No texture, but is another sample![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
So, I guess I avoided the making of the example. Yet though, if I find the time, I'll try to make a sample but mainly as I have not found a sample made with Blender, which is my main interest.
i read at elysiun Der_ton is working on updating the plugin for blender to version Blender 2.33a.
I read that the version that exist now, is for Blender 2.32.
Anyway, I did put it to you, but you merely don't need to mess with it nor blender, you have enough work![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
That's why I provided you the doom 3 models samples directly.
I think you have enough to work with the code, in case you feel in the mood.
Great pair of additions are them, md3 (imho best vertex animation I can think of) , and this great format, md5. x exporter is not yet for Blender, and may take a while, so... It will be there and done, but hey, this format is very good too.
is less...universal than x. As far as I know, Der_ton's max and Blender exporters, and some other user maya 4.0 exporter. A maya 5 version works for statics; in the proccess of adding maya 5 animation export.
While x export in a load of more packages, but the fact is seems the blender doomIII exporter is done, ended
Files I uploaded for you :
THE DOOM III MODEL VIEWER(has a sample model and animations)
ANOTHER SAMPLE
The latest Blender doom3 animated bone&weights model exporter
latest file u don't actually need it, but I just uploaded it.
