I've met in person the Head CEO of Sun Microsystems!!!!

Post by MasterGod »

Ok I'm trying to hold myself cause what I'm about to tell is unbelievable to me.
It goes like this, my teacher is one of the few teachers in Israel who learned Solaris and the CEO of Sun Microsystems came to Israel to sign some agreement with the minister of education and my teacher was invited.
He asked me and another student of his to join him.
At first we thought we're gonna meet the Israeli representative of Sun and talk with him about our experience with Solaris, in Hebrew but then 30 minutes before the CEO of Sun came we were told we're gonna have to speak in English because there's going to be the head CEO of Sun (from San Francisco IIRC), The manager of Sun for the middle east and the Israeli representative of Sun.
We were so surprised that we forgot how to talk (in any language). We started to practice our English and think what to say, damn we were so nervous. Then we were told to enter the room and take a sit and in few minutes the head CEO of Sun, entered the room. It was so scary I tell you  ..
We sat and the people there started to talk.
This part I still don't realize happen.
The minister of education was late in about 15 minutes and in that time we started to talk. They were talking about some things I was so nervous I didn't listen but then my teacher introduced me and my project (NUSoftware Game Engine).
~15 people, including the head CEO of Sun Microsystems, Israeli representative and some other important guys from Sun, listened to me.
For about 5-10 minutes I was talking about The NUSoftware Game Engine and myself, in English and they were all listening carefully to what I'm saying. I'll repeat it, I'VE PRESENTED MY PROJECT, NUSOFTWARE GAME ENGINE TO THE HEAD CEO OF SUN MICROSYSTEMS!!!
I just can't believe it. They were very impressed and it seems they really liked what I've said (god helped me choose the right words 8))
Afterwards the Israeli representative of Sun which is a pretty important guy too gave me his business card and asked me to send him an email presenting in more detail my project. My teacher said people would kill for having this guy reviewing their work and I should understand what a damn lucky guy I am.
This can be my breakthrough in the programming industry and I wanted to share my experience with you.
I've never been in a situation like this and presenting my project to such people is pretty scary.
If some of you have tips to give me about ToDo/!ToDo when presenting work of mine to such people I'll be glad to hear cause he's still waiting for my email.

P.S
The other student my teacher brought is some nice girl so I might get lucky there too 8)

[Edit]
I've check the business cards they gave me and the Israeli representative is: R&D/Edu/Gov Segment Manager.
And the other guy (middle east guy): Education & Research Manager. South East Europe, Middle East and Africa Global Sales Operations.

Wow that's great. Public discussions scare you though? Hmm, I always liked public speaking, especially in the form of a seminar/conference like at GDC. It's always fun to present your own project to others, and see how they take it.

I told him about you too! I told him that there's already someone who's willing to use my engine if I finish adding physics in first release.
It helped a lot making a better impression so thank you
