EEprom programmer?

Does anyone know where i can get a cheap one that can programm many different sizes or where i can find a circuit for it? Btw i live in Germany (south bavaria).

cheap? round about 20 - 40 € but the one on ebay is not made for eeproms like the 29F040 or so.

I don't know what your level of electrical expertise is. You could make your own eeprom programmer with a microcontroller (though I've never actually tried this). Device programmers, especially versatile ones, have always seemed rather expensive to me. If you're comfortable with mcu's I wouldn't think making one would be horribly hard. Connections are simple, just a matter of timing.

If you're interested in programming to the parallel port I found a schematic for a parallel port EEPROM programmer (only serial EEPROM I think). If you're interested I can post the schematic. EEPROM programmers from large electronics suppliers always seem to be expensive. Small retailers are probably the only place to buy one for a fairly small sum. I can't think of any off hand that I know sell EEPROM programmers but I'm sure they're out there.
