First Irrlicht Plugins Added - SQLite Filesystem
First Irrlicht Plugins Added - SQLite Filesystem
I have decided to give my SQLite filesystem a quick update and bring it up to the latest SVN Trunk version, but also it is the first Irrlicht Plugin to be added to the irrlicht-plugins Project on Google Code: irrlicht-plugins
More importantly I hope to get this project started in collecting all of the irrlicht plugins/extensions into one place like SDL library page
So perhaps all the great people with Physics wrappers and other great things can help me and everyone else and start to populate it.
Irrlicht is a great renderer, lets make it better and collate everything into one place to make customizing Irrlicht easy. The forums are great but require quite a bit of digging to find some of the gold.
I am going to contact the project owners and see if I can become an owner as well to help things along.
Thoughts, opinions and contributions extremely welcome!

I believe there's a plugin section in SVN isn't there? I'm not sure if that's more official things or also general user plugins.
Keeping a well populated list of plugins is definetly a good idea but someone needs to be commited to keeping it up to date with all the new plugins that come along and also making sure the plugins remain updated to the latest version of irrlicht.

I can't seem to see a plugin section on SVN, maybe I am just blind.
I am willing to try being the guy keeping it up to date and committing new plugins, I just need to get added as a project owner.

Cool, some interest in this again
A while back Hybrid and I were discussing moving it to sourceforge, and synchronising releases with Irrlicht. I think we should still do this, but for the moment it's on google code.
I added Zeuss as an admin and the others as members. Blindside, you'll need a google account for the moment, it only takes a moment to sign up for one.
Before adding code from the forums etc to the repository, make sure you contact authors and get permission first (unless they already gave explicit permission to re-use). Would probably be best if you could forward the permission on to everyone by email too, so we have some evidence of it.

thank you bitplane.
Some other things I want to chat about that in an email i sent, or good ol' irc would be pretty cool.
I will probably start forum digging tomorrow and get in contact with people.
Its already looking like a great start with Halifax and Nadro aboard after 1 day.
The problem being is keeping everything up to date and in an easy to use form. Perhaps a standardized way of packing and delivering the plugins should be devised and put onto the wiki of the project page.

after having a good chat with bitplane, we are moving from google code to a sourceforge project. This gives us many advantages:
Better organisation (categories and the like)
Wider non restricted license choices
Already got a community around sf
No need to dual account
More updates and stuff as it progresses, but it should not take long!

Rather than start a new project, I've requested to take over control of the (dead) Irrlicht Extensions sourceforge project. This isn't the same as Acki's Irrlicht Extensions, but hopefully we can get Acki on board too
edit: APT Approved by SF.net
Oh well, we've got the Google repository for the momentsf.net wrote:A status indicating that a project is an 'APT' means that the project request has been flagged as an Abandoned Project Takeover. As stated during the registration process, these take 2 to 3 weeks to be fully processed.
