Irrlicht Demo In Portland Oregon USA

Post by dlangdev »

Hi all,

I will be presenting my sample 3D demo at a conference in April.

So, with that, I'd like to get more sample programs that I can show-n-tell and let the viewers know the works of Irrlicht developers--like you.

If you have the time, you can help me in this demonstration by simply posting a URL to your sample game.

It would be nice to present an unattended Irrlicht application, basically a program that runs on its own, no keyboard interaction as I will be removing the keyboard and show only the monitor.

Also, I will be needing an Irrlicht game with keyboard attached.

If you have any Irrlicht game using the Wii remote, please send them to me right away even if it still incomplete. I can probably add some code to it as I still have about two weeks to prepare.

Thanks for reading.

yeah h-craft would certainly be good, it's commercial isn't it? it would be good to be able to show off a commercial game made with irrlicht there as it shows that you can get really good quality whereas most non-commercial games with irrlicht lack the great artwork so look a bit ropey.

you can look at the stuff on my website but there's nothing of any decent standard really i don't think...

i guess my irrAI demos run without the need for user interaction so if you were desperate then you could use some of those and maybe i could do a bit of extra work to tidy them up and make them a bit more presentable or something.

I think some of the shader effects developed could be presented. Maybe BlindSide could compile you some nice scenes. And ask Christian Clavet for an automatic presentation of his first demo, that would give a nice town walk-through.
If you want to show a very nice GUI I'd suggest the Amelia project. Now that they have finished their initial chooser it's astonishing. The app is still to demanding, though, to use it as a showcase.
Maybe varmint also has some nice demo apps, he has so many nice visual effects.

Yeah Christian's level demo would be awesome if he could put an automated walkthrough in it, shouldn't be too hard to do at all with a camera spline.

Also the Krabbits game would be a good one to show off in some way as it's being aimed at multiple platforms it would be good to be able to say that irrlicht can run on many platforms.

And lots of the shader effects would be good too!

ooh ooh. lemme see :)
i love GUI work. hence my interest in making cool GUI's

an animated automated GUI cud be the one i had on old.owned.co.za which is funny,

hmm , krabbits isnt out yet but the dmeo might be out by the time u need it

hmm i can think of a couple of things. if u wanted a playable SCR i could make an empty map to ride around in, or a longer video of higher quaility... seeing as the youtube ones make it look ugly ;P

There is also this game : which was not released FULLY yet, although all aspects of "viible" gameplay are evident.

So if you wanted this (with all animated GUI's and huds and what not) you may request :)

Off the top of my head theres:

There are actually 1 or 2 pretty nice shadowing demos which I haven't released, if you really want I can have those ready in a day or two. They both require user-interaction though.
