Vista safe?

How can I create games that are vista compatible? what do I need to be aware about?

I know there is a 'game explorer', but, where do I put my files? How do I find the App Data folder programmatically etc?

Is there some sort of 'My Games' folder you need to install it to? Kinda like my pictures or my music?

I run all my applications on vista I have vista installed as my only windows machine. I haven't encountered trouble with any irrlicht project so far.
