Right, completely shameful request for any modellers or animators that can help me out.
Unfortunately i can't offer any payment for services but this is for my PS3 game project which would mean that if you do help me out then you get your name on the credits of a PS3 game (though how it's going to be distributed is unconfirmed, hopefully either by PSN or, at the very least, the OPSM demo disc).
Basically i want this finished off before the end of the year, maybe even by October time but i'm getting very little progress from my current art guys (for various reasons) so need to enlist some more help.
I've had my coding put back by nearly 2 months due to my PS3 devkit blowing up and only just getting it up and running again now so i'm quite worried about how losing 2 months will affect things...
If you're interested drop a post here or PM me, if you'd like more info on the game then you can click on the picture in my signature and if you'd like any further info then feel free to ask!
EDIT: I suppose a bit more info on what i need would be sensible! There's a few models that i need creating for enemies in my game and there's quite a lot of animating work that needs doing, both to these new models and the current models which i have. I'm not looking for next-gen quality in the models and animations, this isn't a next-gen game by any stretch of the imagination, it's just me programming it on my own and it's a personaly project in my spare time at work, not an official project. You can see from the pictures on my website what sort of quality models i'm working with at the moment. It's cartoony and humourous
A cry for help to modellers and animators

It's a good question dlangdev.... and i don't particularly know the answer
If the game got published to PSN (probably less likely as time goes on) then i guess Sony would own everything to do with the game, including the models. If the game just gets put on the demo disc then i don't think Sony will own it in such a way (although because i'm developing it at work, whatever i do with it Sony own it because they're paying me for my time here) so maybe the models would be free for use elsewhere as well as it would be more my decision...

Thanks for the offer on that stuff, i'll keep it in mind, although i think i've got most of my environment stuff done really, it's those simpler things that my limited modelling experience can handle, but i can't do people, let alone animate them!Dark_Kilauea wrote:I'm primarily an environment modeler. If you need help with environments or props, let me know and I'll see if I can open up some time to help you.
Although, maybe you'd be able to model the inside of a tavern for me? I did a version myself but it's not very well proportioned and is generally pretty poor... if you're up for that let me know and we can talk about more details.

Ooh, sorry, I only do next-next-gen.
Question: Would Sony be happy with you distributing content to which they don't have crystal clear distribution rights? I'd be handed my nut-bolts in a sack if I tried swiping code without a very explicit license to do so.

Do you mean for PSN or the OPSM demo disc?
For PSN the game would no doubt have to go through some strict processes to make it distributable but for the demo disc route it should be much easier as my department has done this kind of thing before, wacking an employees game project on the demo disc, probably without needing any permissions.

Ok well i've been talking to the two people who did my job before me and i've basically decided that PSN isn't really going to be a viable option for me. If i had more time it may be possible but i really don't think i'll be able to get it worthy of PSN within 4 months as it would require localising to many different languages and also would no doubt require a lot of online features which i could do with time but as it stands there's no way i can finish the game and add online features too!
So the demo disc is my main option now.
