Lag Test

Post by dlangdev »

I did some experiments to figure out what's the best way of handling resources while maintaing high fps.

Three tests were made, one method resulted in a test with lag, while the other method resulted to no lag. The last one has no lag as well.

The images below show snapshots of the tests taken. I built a fairly large model, a three story building shaped like a school.

I'm still collecting data at the moment. Further on something will come out from this experiment and I will post the report later.

yeah, i just realized i need to hold this back a little bit more.

i should test it again, this time, i'm going to build a bigger test program that will measure network lag as well.

sorry for not posting the results as it might turn into a false statement.

hmmm, maybe i should start getting serious on making a game now? it's all coming together and i'm pretty much familiar with the codebase and art workflow. the only problem i see is making a compelling storyline.

Great, just so long as the results are repeatable and deterministic.
