this is my next animator in production - i made one a while ago for flatland so i can just port it over - it takes a collection of nodes and makes they fly or swim in a flocking pattern - after i get it working i want to make it so you can limit the axis - that way you could also have flocking ground characters who cannot move in the y direction
does anyone know of a fish or bird animated model i can borrow? i did a search on all the sites i know and only found one (on squid but it costs $50) - it would be fun to make an aquarium!

Doing a search on "boids mesh" on google had some interesting results. One guy did his birds in 4 Microsoft .X meshes.
1 For the head, 1 for left wing, 1 for right wing, 1 for body. He then coded in all the animations for the bird and just bound all the pieces together using parent/child relations.
