[Team Needed] Silent Jungle [QuantumDream]

Post by QuantumDream »

QuantumDream
Soon after December small Finnish Indie Game Developer, QuantumDream is releasing their first game called Vague. Which means that next game is already in planning and story writing process. It's going to be announced later in 2009 and it's time to get more personel working on it. We're brand new, so even though site is up, it's badly under construction.

What we offer to you?
As a small indie game developer, we don't have big budgets so you have to pay your foods and drinks itself :p. But we do pay a small monthly bonus for their job, if they do it fine. If you're going to be lazy, you just won't get nothing.

What we need?
Right now we are trying to hire a coders and graphicans (3d, 2d, if you can do mapping, even better.) for our team. I do itself have alot experience from Graphics and little bit about coding. I do know how Irrlicht works and I can use it. So if you feel that you want to get little monthly extra money and can code or do arts, take contact on me. Notice that TBA 2009 game is based on big Jungle, and you do need to know how to code / model that environment.

In a nutshell:
QuantumDream is small starting indie game developer from Finland. We've deciced to use Irrlicht for most of out projects, as it's fast, easy to code and great support. Our next project, which isnt yet announced is based on big jungle island, and is really a survival horror (etc, you can't kill enemies easily with shooting them in body. Blow their head or legs!) so ammunition will be low during the game. Most of time player needs to use brains and think how to get out of this situation easiest way, without wasting extra bullets, when hordes of mutants are running towards you. That's what adds panic. Being based in jungle, it's great way to add extra horror, as you can't really see what's coming behind next corner, because of huge vegetation. So we are trying to find a extra coders for this project and graphics artist. If you can do other jobs, you can still contact us and we will speak about that matter. It's a lightly paid position for 3d modelers and coders. Monthly paid position in greater detail. Won't be much, but even little bit money from your efforts should be fine for most of guys. Ofcourse if we decice to sell this game and find a publisher, then the whole team will get paid. This is based on, how fine game we can make. This a great opportunity to get little bit extra money monthly and even more if we sell the game!

Rogenburg: Thanks for helping out with these werewolfs attacking me here :)

In case that somebody won't still understand now, this project is being developed with Irrlicht and with few modules like IrrKlang. So I think this is still the right place to post this and it's all made within guidelines from Project Announcement topic.

You should add some demos of previous or current work. Screenshots, arts design studies, links, ...

Well, here's pictures from Vague. Notice that game engine used in Vague can't handle really big / hq textures so they look little bit poor. Also, there's no way to use AA or any else effects. These graphics what you see are mostly made by me.

You can actually download a demo from here:
http://www.kpnet.com/proxy/intersoft/pr ... uedemo.zip

Note: It's really old and doesnt show what we have now with this project.

Vague was a project using FPS Creator + .fpi scripting, so nothing really great was used in this. I was in this project mostly scripting stuff and lead graphican. This game has been under developement two years. It started as a 2D top-down horror game until it gotten year and few months ago in this what's it now. Even though it's been developed using FPS Creator, I know what's it's like to develope a game using pure C++ code.

P.S Dont care about that drawingwip.png.. It's just something what I'm doing with my Wacom Bamboo tablet and it's mostly only there to show my shaky drawing skills :D.

I'm curious: How many games have you worked on using pure C++? How many shipped? Do you have links to them?
