Request to irrlicht.

Post by xsocom »

Hello, I have a question if there is someone who can take some little free time and make this work with irrlicht, I think this water is very nice and I belive many others thinks that to, If someone could make a custom node of this source to irrlicht it would be awsome, believe many would appreciate it.

I've tried to it works on irrlicht but no real success about it, also I have not much of experience in DX.

Hope someone has some extra time:)

Thank you very much!

Here is the water source for DX9:

Well the water looks pretty cool but I'd recommend not to wait for someone else to do it for you cause you'll have to wait too long.

I guess you'll have to settle with what's already done (search forums for water scene nodes)..

have you seen elvman's water scene node? that's pretty good. Sio2 also did something very similar (if not the same) as this one on his website, but may not have released the source...

Also, dare I say it, you may want to check out Ogre's Hydrax module. It makes use of the projected grid ocean effect that is used in the master thesis you posted above. You could probably adapt the shaders to Irrlicht.

And if I recall correctly, the projected grid method is what Crytek used for the oceans in Crysis.

Yeah, don't worry about it. Shaders are pretty complicated, but once you get the hang of them, then you can do virtually anything. Just keeping trying to learn things; you might want to start with something a little bit easier.
