From Gamedev.net:

RakNet now totally free
Posted by: GameDev.net contributor at 3:18:27 PM

RakNet, a game oriented networking API, has decided to drop the shareware and commercial license fees and is now free for all users. Shareware and commercial licenses will be granted to all serious development studios upon request. All versions of the license come with fast, free unlimited technical support.

The homepage for Raknet is http://www.rakkarsoft.com.

So what is the difference between the Shareware License and the commercial license. I would not think it is just what you use it for(As in whether or not your application is shareware or commercial) because if that was the case then why would they say something like this:
Commercial licenses are screened more carefully and are for games that you plan to release in retail outlets such as EB and Software Etc.

For RakNet, shareware means electronic distrobution only. Commercial was a boxed distrobution

@saigumi, I understand what they are saying is the difference I am wondering if their are any different features with the commercial over the shareware. If there are not why would they have different license if they are all free.

It looks like because he wants to have the projects listed. Also, it looks like he's going to charge for support or other consulting needs.

The original free version didn't have any features limited.
