heh, guess you've got a point dorth
but yeah, developing even simple tetris-clones can prove to be great learning experiences, and your pitch certainly has more substance.
So go for it whether its been done before or not. Chances are, the look and style of the game would help give it fresh outlook anyway.

What's your problem, honestly?fmx wrote:Dorth and Halifax, please continue to name a few more games we might have considered playing
(ie, please dont)
btw, virion, looking forward to seeing some ingame footage, keep up the good work
At any rate, on a note to Virion. I just read your blog post, and I want to say that I didn't mean to put your storyline "down". It was just funny. But seriously, I'm actually a fan of the storyline.

Hehe, seems Virion is having a hard time keeping up with people around here.
One thing I'll tell you, Virion, just keep going. You just never know what will turn up later. A year ago, I started learning about Irrlicht, Humus3D, TGEA--seriously. And then later after several months, someone noticed my postings from another forum and I got an offer from a smallbiz game company.
Keep going and aim high. Go for shader programming and all that jazz. It will get you somewhere higher than where you are now.

no problem, all cool. I'm an instinctive poster, post first, think later. Sorry if I hit a nerve.

did you really get an offer? so what happened, did you get a chance at working on any projects?
IMO, shaders don't make great games, gameplay does. Get the gameplay going, then shaders would help take the game to the next level.

sorry for going all off-topic
