Hi,
i am new user to irrlicht and ogre3d, and i noticed that ogre rendering quality is better( tested under linux, with opengl).
Is there any thing to do to improve irrlicht rendering quality?
Why is ogre rendering quality better?

Yes, you must provide better assets.
Try to find the thread from about a year ago, we already had this discussion. So stop it here and now, unless you really have proper knowledge about this topic and you can discuss this issue in detail. However, your lack of info in your OP indicates that you don't know too much about rendering technology. So better discuss this somewhere else.

It's personal preference, really. You also have to factor in your knowledge and the ease of use of either engine.
Post this userbar I made on other websites to show your support for Irrlicht!

hey! take it easy, i know i am new to both irrlicht and ogre, and that's why i am asking questions like that
i've been looking ogre and irrlicht demo, and ogre's demos is really beatyfull, so i asked for the reason, since both use same basic technique.( i am not talking about high tech etchniques like shaders, because i don't know them well)

as hybrid said it all depends on the assets u use. and that also includes shaders and most ogre demos have shaders. thats why.maroxe wrote:hey! take it easy, i know i am new to both irrlicht and ogre, and that's why i am asking questions like that

We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.
Don't worry, In my opinion, both engines can do whatever you want them to do. Ogre demos are nice, but it doesn't mean Irrlicht can't do good renders too.
The difference is in the size of the content that Irrlicht offers, unlike Ogre demos. Irrlicht downloadable content maybe it is not much, but, it is enough for you to make an idea of what the engine can do. Ogre has an installer with 30 megs only for demos. That is why, at first, Irrlicht looks worse, but sight can be deceiving, explore them in depth, and choose the one who fits better to your needs, if you have to.
And believe me, Irrlicht offers as much as the time you want to give it, and even more that you would expect at first.

IMHO someone could make a good looking demo just to show off what the Irrlicht engine can do to remove some of the confusion and ideas of it not being good. Just a suggestion, I haven't looked into OGRE though so I can't contribute much but looking at some of these screen shots I think Irrlicht can do some great stuff.

Topic locked for being tedious and silly. I would love to see bitmap differences in the same assets (e.g. OGRE demo content) displayed using OGRE and Irrlicht. Please do feel free to post them, then we can discuss any differences between OGRE and Irrlicht in a meaningful, constructive way.
