Giles goes freeware!

Post by afecelis »

From Giles' site:
We're pleased to announce that gile[s] is now free to use! Get it here:
http://www.frecle.net/index.php?show=giles.download

You can use the following code to activate the full version.
Registration name: Freeware
Registration code: GLS-7781-C787-C274

We hope you will find a use for it in your games and experiments.
We will still be updating it occasionally, so feel free to suggest improvements and report bugs!

Thanks to one and all who bought and helped improve gile[s] over the years! It's been a lot of fun!
This is one of the most amazing and versatile GI lightmappers that exports to b3d. A must tool for any Irrlicht user!

regards,

Alvaro

Ps. Vermeer is going to die with this news! ;)

hey...be very sure to download the extras...I have the old legacy , but as user registered..

someformats, binary ones or not, put your registered name there! yep, last name and all...I dont like that...
So I used to export ascii and edit the beguining...

freeware will put freeware...and that's fine.

i am not gonna login there just to say this, but as a registered owner who paid for the tool, I see it cool that he makes it freeware.

You purchase a license to use, not the author's life!

never understood that reaction....

besides, is waaaay more than more powerful houses did with me...Deep Paint3d was abandoned!

At least this man will continue developing the product, or providing some continuity, which is not the usual on commercial tools that stop to be .

( luckily (as I don't enjoy the zb which I also purchased for that) blender is there to pick up, am already 3d painting my models there... )

And bottom line...the tool as it was already at 1.36, is terrificlyuseful. And waaay a good solution for those not finding their way in the blender ui to just make game levels...
