SVN ready

Post by jmpep »

Hi to all.

Well, as I said I have just upload the code of Irrlicht 1.4.1 for S60 3rd Edition.

I have not done neither any webpage nor a proper distribution (I don't have much time right now), but I have uploaded the code to the SVN of the sourceforge project page.

The SNV can be accessed using the following data:
I have uploaded just the engine. I will upload the code for the demos for S60 as soon as possible (on the other platforms, the normal demos for the 1.4.1 engine should work as usual).

PS: The dissertation was a success -I was given 10 out of 10. Thanks again to all who have made it possible :)

Fantastic, thank you! I'm sure this will make it back into Irrlicht :)

I don't understand the question. The version I have done does use OpenC++.

OpenC++ provides a some compatibility with POSIX and features of STL and some of Boost. However, it does not automagically makes the OpenGL driver compatible with the OpenGL ES library (which is the one available on the phone) nor does it provide features which are OS-dependant such as creating the windows or managing key events.

What's the status of the Symbian port? I just took a quick look at the IRRLICHT SVN repository and it seems it did not make it to the trunk.

I tried the demo on my N95 and after selecting the driver from the console it Panics with KERN-EXEC 3.

Currently none of the official devs have the time or the kit to test and merge this back in. I have an N95 myself but haven't done any Nokia development, the binaries don't run on mine, but it does run on my brother's 8GB model (which has more RAM).

It will take a while longer to get this into Irrlicht, once we have the OpenGL ES branch merged back to trunk (1.7?) and hybrid or I are comfortable developing with Symbian OS, we could put this in and officially support it.

It would be better if we had a dedicated mobile developer on the team, someone who could work on maintain and support the iPhone and Symbian platforms, maybe even write a D3D Mobile driver for hardware accelerated Windows CE devices.
