Obama and your Computer Rights

Post by Alpha Omega »

So I've heard that the obama administration is trying to pass an international copyright law that if passed would allow governments to search and seize material from a person's digital devices including lap tops, mp3 players, digital cameras, etc.

If this happens I will be very displeased. Do you think they would do the seizing via online or bang into your home and just take your computer? Personally I feel obama could get away with anything at this point, most Americans still believe he is an ultimately divine god send from the heavens which lets him do anything he wants.

I for one am an American in horror that we allowed this guy in the Whitehouse. However I very much support fighting piracy and illegal/unethical music/software/movie/whatever downloading, I don't support the ability for the Government covering thier stupid bills with crap.

Also; apparently our government is trying to pass a bill that will basically give the president complete unrestricted control over our internet.

I agree with DtD's opioion of letting Obama into the white house. This bill does scare me, but what a person has their MP3 Player, computer, laptop, etc is their own personal stuff, and the goverment should NOT interfere with it. Or anything personal for that matter

I understand they want acces to every computer using internet?

Well, everyone using encryption would be a suspect right? and what about a good firewall? You just say "owh thought it was a hacker"

yeah, the german government call their's "Bundestrojaner" !!! :?
and I'm sure it's already in use...

the simplest way to get it legal is to say "it's neccessary to prevent terrorism and computer crime" !!!

Lol, if I may dabble in the tin-foil hattery, if the New World Order passes, the government seizing your computer would be the least of your worries.

Even if they'd catch me, it would still protect other people involved in my activities.

Obama promised change... yup... he's on the right track thus far... spending more money than any President in history.. and more pork too... gotta love it... we really need to invoked a voter qualification test here....
