saw a new ish movie last night called mirrors, amazing movie but it raised the question of just what method they are using to create the fire effects used in the movie. to me it looks like a fluid effect and is incredibly realistic.
sorry mate, i thought it was a fairly advanced question of how a movie has such good looking fire and ideas on how to get some kinda similar effect in irrlicht, but fair dues

those effects in film might take several hours just to render a frame. cannot be done in real time tho.
Think of what was "real time" 50 years ago (nothing ). I think it will be less than 50 years until current hour-long renders become real-time. My guess is 10, viewing where we've gone in the last 10 years.
