question about irrlicht renderer...

Post by Malgodur »

How good is irrlicht renderer? Can it be compared (fps at triangle count) to modern games renderers?

At my system Vista, 4GB RAM, duo CPU 2.25 ghz Irrlicht got 160 000 triangles at 25 FPS. It isnt too much in my opinion.
How much fps at how much triangles you got guys?

160k is actually more than it sounds.

CPU and RAM aren't responsible for the fps. The graphic card does the most. So what card do you have ?

its about Occlusion culling in Irrlicht... is this feature avaible in latest SVN (or 1.5)? Did Katsankat released his code?

Well your GPU doesn't belong to the fastest. So your values are ok.

Your values are ok if You don't use vertex buffers. You can increase speed by using vertex buffers (setHardwareMappingHint(...)).
