I think that Action Quake was a cracking game and would make an excellent foundation for a complete game in particular if it had an appropriate action quake style twist or innovation to it.

keep in mind that some people cannot stand playing graphics like quake1/2, it hurts their eyes!

so improve the maps in blender

Graphics don't make game, actually i hate all the new games. They are all boring. I've recently played with my old PSX more than every new gaming devices i own.

Agreed. There is still a large fanbase for Descent 1 and 2, those games were released in 1994, and 1995. Graphics don't woo everyone, though for some it does.
