After some huge frustration..long night..crying heartache..and all that jazz...she is done! Ill blog about the finished product later tonight to give you the exact reason why i said my first sentence. Sorry twillight but time frame didn't allow your models to make it into this game. BUT i will be using them for my next project. ;) it will be better i promise. Now this game isn't really a game maybe a "maze" tech demo has there's not much to see. but it does show a little of irrlichts capability s and my own engines. I don't really consider this a game but then again i cant say it isnt.. So has for me failing or completing the challenge its for you guys to say.

Of everything i overlooked one..key..thing.. art.. i didn't focus on it till last week and it bit me in the ass pretty hard. so for future people ART.

Anyways i don't have a easy release build up because im plagued with dial-up and its going to take about 3 hours to upload a release .rar

P.S for those who find the end of the level *ramp leads to freedom* there's a special message for you :D

P.SS keep going forward even when things seem there darkest lol.

P.SSS Thanks everyone who helped me:)

For anyone who wants to see it you can grab my svn:

For those who wanna watch a little vid.*It has no sound and dosent show the visual or audio scares*

Alright everyone thanks to zjblabs he generously packaged up the svn for both high end and lower end pc's. Both are self extracting 7z exe's so should be nice. Just incase my server goes down for whatever reason zjblabs is also hosting a mirror. Keep in mind you must have the phsyx system software installed :) The highend is a full svn repo it comes with everything you will need to compile the project. As well has comes with the version of the DeathTouchEngine that was used to create it with.

High end *Nvidia 6200+*:

Low end *Intel*:

Neither work in Wine but I will try tomorrow on a Windows box.

Congratulations on completing the project though, I hope it was a great learning experience :)

Oh, one more thing. When I press new game, it just hangs and shows a cube with red text and doesn't continue on. Do I need to press a button or something? I really wanna try this out! :D

EDIT: I think something may be going on in the background, but the red text is covering it. I'm not really sure.

Nice game :D Almost scared me 2-3 times :)
I found a little mistake in the credits. It says "...Irrlicht fourms"
Before the credits there was blood on my screen. Does that means that I died? :(

Huge congratulations.

Yes, It made me jump a few times. :)

OMG, Task Manager reports 650MB! Did you create 8192x8192 rendertargets or something?

BTW You linked with MSVCP90D.DLL and MSVCR90D.DLL. If end-users don't have these then the app won't run (though you can't legally distribute debug dlls IIRC - you'd need to link with release dlls or static libs).

Code: Select all

After discussing various things including some programming techniques I foolishly promised him that I could deliver the game / demo before summer was up. Now at the time I didn’t think about how long was left in my summer. Only about 2 months and a third were left in my summer. So of course he chuckled and said ok he would take me on that bet. Now I didn’t realize at the time that he would be the one to teach me when I attend and a failure now would just be a very bad hit to my reputation has a programmer at that school.
I for one would be very interested in his reaction. You actually delivered - very impressive.

I wouldn't think that's the case. The application sets my mouse to the middle, like an FPS camera so I'd assume it's running. I looked at the console, came back ten minutes later and the red text was still there. I looked at the console again and nothing new had loaded.
