Vocaroo Express

Post by xDan »

Hello!

This is a small "voice email" app I made, yet another attempt at shareware ;) Windows only, sorry.
The voice message is sent as an attachment using your default email client.

Surprisingly for such an app it does indeed use Irrlicht (Burnings video) also IrrKlang for sound.

I'd really love it if anyone could test on Vista as I have only been able to test on XP.

also other things I'd like to know:
- did it work with your email client? (I only tested with Outlook but it should work with all MAPI compatible)
- how do you feel about the flashing while recording?
- any other opinion or error reports!

Thanks!

I can test on win 7 ultimate x64, if you want. Give me a test list and I'll run it through.

Ooh, that would be great. But I don't really have anything as professional as a test list :P

But I guess:
- run the app, record a message, play it back
- click the send button and see if your email client opens correctly (plus open the attachment on the message and see if that plays in your media player)
- maybe start the app a couple of times and see if the trial number-of-uses-left decreases correctly
- check the links in the start menu group work (especially the link to "View Message Cache" which should open APPDATA\Vocaroo Express\Messages)
- check your web browser opens to the "buy" page when clicking "yes" in the trial messages

Thanks :)

Did anyone try this in Vista?

I'll happily test software in XP in exchange...

I can't tst for now, my microphone crapped out on me first time I tried (or I realised then that it was) and haven't bought a new headset yet. However, uninstalling the app doesn't uninstall the start menu shortcut for me.
