Does Irrlicht support any format that includes animation that Max or Maya naively support? (I have reviewed the list, did I miss it?)

Max and Maya don't import or export those file types, is there really no format to go from Audodesk to Irrlicht?

You can use this to export to B3D-

You can use an X exporter, or you could use any game exporter supported by MilkShape 3D, then open in MilkShape and export to MS3D format.

That program looks great, unfortunately it looks a little outdated. (Max 2009 doesn't recognize it) the updated panda exporter is fine for max.
I'm primarily looking for something that will export out of maya, if anyone knows a maya animated irrlicht compatible format or plugin, please post
Edit: Even the old Maya to .x exporters don't support bones

Collada
Although I have not used the collada in irrlicht yet you should give that a try and see if it supports what you are looking for.
Feeling software used to offer free versions of their collada exporters but it looks like they now want you to pay.

Other than that you might find some other collada exporters on the web for maya by doing a few google searches. Maya and Max might even natively support collada by now, its been a while since I used either of them.
FBX. A note for those people developing using irrlicht: Since Autodesk now owns virtually everything the FBX file format is become quite a useful format for use as intermeditate file formats or interchange file formats. It would be great if someone could write an FBX importer AND exporter for irrlicht. This will allow content from Maya, Max and Mudbox. Cinema4D also has very good FBX suport in their latest release 11.5.
