IRR edit message
IRR edit still has the "this is an early alpha version which contains many bugs and not all the features" kind of message when you start it up.

Irredit is pretty much dead. all Niko does is compile it against the newest irrlicht release.

Yeah if I had source code to it I would update it every once in a while, there have been features I've been wishing for lateley too. I think there where some good editors in the wiki.
That would be illogical captain...

Oh, ok, I didn't know he wasn't active on the boards much. I'm looking for an editor that will load all the scene nodes for me, not just a bunch of static mesh, though that is nice. I'm having trouble 1. Finding a engine that supports .obj (or collada) for static meshes. 2. and then collada for animated meshes, in a way the engine understands.
I really find it awful that you would have to say program each npc animated object into your scene. I wouldn't do that... Quake III had a map editor, and it's on the iphone now... Is there a decent map editor that will manage scene nodes and drop things like characters and animation.

If you want to have more scenenodes in IrrEdit - why don't you just create a plugin for them. I haven't taken a look at the not-supported nodes in Irrlicht, but I think they do have the necessary (de)serialize functionality. Or post your questions/requests regarding IrrEdit on the Ambiera forum for IrrEdit (http://www.ambiera.com/forum.php).
