Indeed lookin` pretty good. I especially like the glossy look and that the back side colour of the prototype is the same as the front side. But I`m still much more interested in its performance rendering capabilities of the Irrlicht basic examples and the fps it gets, to get some idea of what we`re talkin` about...

Ok, we all know that SG57 and neilb are from this community. Just wondering if the other two participants (rodrigonegrete and pat) are from Irrlicht or OGRE side (which doesn`t make any difference, just being curious)?
I have three original "simple" game ideas suitable for some handheld device or low-perf pc for some time, and I was planning on participating, but I was not sure I`ll have enough time to finish one of them, dealing some other stuff too, so I guess it`ll wait for some other time.
Wishing lots of luck to all participants!

Hi, the other two participants are from Ogre if i recall correctly. you can read their discussions in the Ares Community group and find out, we asked then questions about the engines so it should be pretty clear. Too bad you could not participate although you can still develop the games for Ares and get paid from their earnings if you wish to but without the first prize

Hey! The winners in the first stage were announced!
http://www.gizmoforyou.net/site/en/comp ... nners.html
Winner is pat with "Cosmic Assault". Congrats, pat!
Second place for rodrigonegrete with "Prip". Congrats, to you too!
Third goes to neilb with "Keepers". Heeeya you too, neilb!
It`s just as it is- believe or not, the "classic" 2d space concept won. No concept art, no video (I may have missed them though). I`m happy the winner is using Irrlicht- meaning another chance of some commercial product using new portable handheld device. Which is good. Luckily, the nature of the game is a reason it could be developed to the end by a single person. How it will look like, feel like... smell like...?! We`ll see...

Holy sh!t, you made the game console!
Is this only available from you site? Have you ever thought about selling this at stores?
I would love to be a part of this. I am really busy at the moment and I have never made anything for a portable device, but this definately interests me.Hmm, not 18 until June. The contestant/contestants should be 18years of age or more.
And you can be his/her assistant...or smthng like that
i have been looking in to this as well. is this an unfinished console or what? i don't see any demo of the author playing a game with it. it only shows a black screen with some text on it like a Hello World demo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvjILbjI5PY
you guys should try pandora handheld open console instead: http://www.open-pandora.org at least it really works. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... en+pandora
gizmoforyou does sounds like scam to me
